About Parkinsons Coachella Valley
Supporting people with Parkinson's disease, their families, and care partners across the Coachella Valley.
Parkinsons Coachella Valley (PCV) is a division of Alzheimers Coachella Valley, a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing support and services at low or no-cost for Coachella Valley residents living with Parkinson's disease, their families, and care partners.
Our office is staffed by trained and professional volunteers, many of whom have more than 20 years of Parkinson's and dementia care experience.
One hundred percent of the funds raised remain in the community to provide local support. We are not affiliated with any national organizations.
Our Mission
Our goal is to provide ongoing support for patients, care partners, and families in a safe environment to help navigate the changes inherent in Parkinson's disease and to retain a quality of life during the progression of the disease.
We offer professional and peer-led support groups — including weekly Tuesday meetings where persons with Parkinson's and care partners meet in separate rooms, each with their own facilitator.
Our Care Advisors work closely with patients and families to develop care plans that include support groups, community resources, and local referrals to help manage and plan for the challenges ahead. Community outreach includes public education and partnerships with organizations like Rock Steady Boxing, SongShine, and PD in Motion.
